TATA Motor Group's Next Move: TAL and Maus Partner for Vertical Turning Center

2007/2008 would be the years of "STRATEGIC Movement" for TATA Motor Group. TATA announced its acquisition of the Jaguar Land Rover businesses from Ford Motor Company on March 2008.

TAL Manufacturing Solutions, a subsidiary of TATA Motor Groups, is also widening its scope of production in collaboration with other European counterparts, German machine tool maker Heller and Italian machine manufacturer Maus.

According to the industrial analysis Knox Johnstone, director of business development for AMT-Association for Manufacturing Technology, "the collaboration is part of a recent pattern companies are making to showcase their arrival on the global stage. For TAL, it's a way to get a product and technical knowledge that they didn't have before and broaden their potential product base. From Maus' point of view, this is a way to gain credibility for their product line in India."

Their first production Vertiturn VTC was introduced. Parts that machined on the Veriturn include brake discs, brake drums, hubs, bearings, gears, aluminum wheels, and other large components.

Vertical machine centers, in general, are widely used in the automotive, aerospace, bearings, energy, and offshore equipment industries.
