Investment casting offers flexibility of alloys, considerable finishing, savings of time, material, and labor to tool and die makers, machine operations, and their customers. And forming metal parts in disposable molds makes opportunities to form any metal“near net shape" parts. The process joins two or more parts together and becomes a single piece so that it saves on fabrication, welding or assembly, and machining time.

Investment casting soften the difficulty of finding qualified machinists and the cost of equipment and labor. Some fabricators, according to the Carl Johnson Jr., don’t realize all the savings of investment casting in time and materials, saving money in the long run. But with investment-cast gears, the difficulty and the cost could be reduced because it minimizes the need for machining.

While operating some part of a machine, the part which is investment-cast, the near-net shape virtually eliminates the scrap and could represent many dollars in savings per part in alloy cost and labor as well. Not to use sand castings, the general manager of another Ohio-based machine operation buys investment castings and gets a near-net shape for saving costs, materials, and the turn-around time. Hence, investment-cast products is a notable benefit
