Industry Overview 2008: Germany Meat Processing Machinery


The meat processing machinery industry is the largest sub-sector of Germany's food processing machinery industry,generating production volume of EUR 842 million in 2007.

Production of meat processing machinery has increased since 2001 and the average annual growth of more than 10 %. The driving force behind the ongoing growth is continuing high demand from outside Germany.

-EU states account for 45 % of these deliveries,

-About 11 % of exports go to North Americ,

-7 % of production goes to Asia,

-and 5 % to Central and South America.

According to the report, the demand for meat processing machinery and equipment will continue to increase. And, Germany continues to be international leader in this field. The second most important export country is the Netherlands (22%), following by Italy (8 %), Austria (7 %), Denmark (6 %) and the USA (5 %).
